How do I contact Lake Escape Rentals?
Call 860-796-7830, email marcy@StayByLakeErie.com, or fill in the form below. All three go to Marcy Barkema, who owns Lake Escape Rentals and hosts all thirteen homes in Huron, Ohio herself.
There is no office to visit and nobody else to be passed to. If you are weighing up which house fits a particular week, that conversation is usually quicker on the phone than through thirteen listing pages.
Already staying in one of the homes and something needs fixing? Call rather than emailing — the form on this page is for enquiries about future stays and is not monitored as an emergency line.

Worth mentioning
Six things that make an answer useful.
Your dates, even roughly.
A month and a rough length of stay is enough to start with. Minimum stays differ by home and the larger houses run longer minimums in summer, so dates are what decides which of the thirteen are actually open to you.
How many people, and how many are children.
The homes sleep between four and sixteen. Huron also caps occupancy by ordinance at three people per property plus two per bedroom, so the headcount is not a formality.
Whether a dog is coming.
Five of the thirteen take dogs and the other eight do not. Limits, fees and prior approval differ between those five, so say it in the first message rather than the fourth — and our guide to pet-friendly Huron covers where you can take them once you are here.
What the trip is for.
A beach week, a fishing weekend, a Cedar Point trip with small children and a family reunion all point at different houses. Say which and the shortlist gets shorter.
Anything that would make or break it.
A ground-floor bedroom, sandy rather than rocky water entry, room to park a boat trailer, a quiet street. These are the things that differ most between the homes and the things people most often find out too late.
If you are booking more than one home.
Three of the homes are in the Rye Beach community and several more share the Old Homestead neighborhoods, so two houses for one group can be a short walk apart. Say so and Marcy will tell you which combinations work for your dates.
Where we are
Huron, Erie County, Ohio.
A town of just under 7,000 people where the Huron River meets Lake Erie, roughly halfway between Cleveland and Toledo. The map is pinned on Huron rather than on any one house — the thirteen homes are spread across the town’s lakeside neighborhoods and the private Rye Beach community just east of it.

Getting in touch
How do I contact Lake Escape Rentals?
Three ways, and all three reach the same person. Call 860-796-7830, email marcy@StayByLakeErie.com, or send the enquiry form on this page. Lake Escape Rentals is owned by Marcy Barkema, who hosts all thirteen homes in Huron, Ohio herself.
Who will answer my message?
Marcy. There is no management company, no agency and no call center between you and the house — she owns all thirteen and answers her own phone and email.
Can I call to ask about a home before I book?
Yes, and it is usually the fastest way to work out which of the thirteen suits a trip. Tell her the dates, the headcount and what you are planning, and she will say which homes fit and which do not.
Do you have an office I can visit?
No. Marcy runs Lake Escape Rentals from home in the Huron area, so there is no walk-in office. Phone, email and this form are the ways to reach her.
I am already staying in one of your homes and something is wrong. What should I do?
Call 860-796-7830 rather than using this form. The form is for enquiries about future stays and is not monitored as an emergency line. In a genuine emergency call 911 first.
Can I bring a dog to a home that is not listed as pet-friendly?
No. Five of the thirteen homes accept dogs and the other eight do not, and that is not something we can make an exception on — it is how the houses are set up and cleaned. Ask about the five and there is usually one that works.
Can I book two homes for one group?
Often, yes. Three of the homes are in the private Rye Beach community and several more share the Old Homestead neighborhoods, so two houses for one party can be within a short walk of each other. Tell Marcy the total headcount and the dates and she will say which pairs are free.
