Boating and fishing in Huron, Ohio
Huron’s free four-lane launch is genuinely unusual — most Lake Erie ramps charge for launching and for trailer parking. If you are bringing a boat, it is the single best practical reason to stay here rather than in Sandusky.
- Launch Four lanes, free
- Walleye April and July
- Perch September and October
Boating and fishing in Huron, Ohio
The Huron River Boat Access has four launch lanes, space for about 135 vehicles with trailers, and charges nothing for either. It is open year-round, and the fish cleaning station runs from mid-April to mid-October.
Walleye and yellow perch are the two fisheries people come for, and they run on opposite halves of the season. If you are not bringing a boat, the mile-long pier fishes all year and the Paddle Shack rents kayaks and paddleboards off the beach in summer.
